Habitat Hosts a Night of Hope at the Grenville
BAY HEAD, N.J. – Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity hosted its third annual Night of Hope gala at the historic Grenville Hotel and Restaurant, 345 Main Avenue in Bay Head on Friday, June 7 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The event celebrated the impact and difference that Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity and its donors, partners, and volunteers make in building a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
The Night of Hope also serves as a platform for Northern Ocean Habitat to honor partners who have made a significant contribution to its mission in 2019.
Honorees at this year’s event include Gabriel Gillen, Founder and President of Family First Funding LLC, who Habitat named its Philanthropic Community Leader of the Year. Gabe and his Family First staff helped to raise over $80,000 to bring Habitat’s 2019 new build house from blueprint to reality.
Northern Ocean Habitat also honored Rising Leaders Rob Ciliento and Ryan Daly of Playa Bowls, Christian Leader Dick Read, and Volunteer of the Year Bill Dudeck. Donovan Catholic High School was named Northern Ocean Habitat’s Campus Chapter of the Year. Madison Wood of Georgian Court University and Joseph Downey of Kean University-Ocean were recognized for their dedicated service as student interns with Habitat.
Northern Ocean Habitat has been serving the community since 1999 and has built 19 homes for local Habitat families since its founding. In 2010, we expanded our mission to include neighborhood revitalization and critical repairs for low-income homeowners, including seniors, veterans and disabled individuals.
Last year, more than 750 volunteers helped Northern Ocean Habitat to build, rehabilitate or repair homes in our community. In addition to our new builds, we restored 60 homes ravaged by Hurricane Sandy, and have completed 218 home repair projects. Learn more about our mission at nohfh.com.
