M&T Bank Partners with Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity

TOMS RIVER, N.J. – As part of an ongoing partnership, M&T Bank recently presented a $10,000 grant to Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity. The grant will support the construction of a new, affordable single family home in Toms River.

This Habitat project is a continuation of the Building Homes from the Heart blitz build event which took place in last October at the Ocean County Mall. Under the leadership of Habitat for Humanity construction professionals, volunteer groups from local businesses, schools and organizations built wall panels for the home in the Ocean County Mall parking lot. The panels were then used to erect the frame of the house where it proudly stood before being dismantled and brought to its permanent location. M&T Bank was also a major sponsor of the Building Homes from the Heart event.

“I love that we are a partner of the community with Northern Ocean Habitat,” shared Linda Knast, M&T regional sales manager for Ocean, Monmouth and Atlantic counties. “Having the opportunity to help a family live in a home that M&T is a part of sponsoring and constructing is beyond words.” Knast manages 17 regional branches and is active on the board of directors for Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity.

The home is the 18th affordable home constructed by Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity which provides housing solutions for low-income people in northern Ocean County.

With this gift, M&T Bank has provided a total of $20,000 in support for Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity since 2016.
