Northern Ocean Habitat and the Lakewood Blueclaws Go to Bat for the Community!

LAKEWOOD, NJ – Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity proudly served as the community partner of the day at the Lakewood BlueClaws August 27th game against the Delmarva Shorebirds.  The whole Habitat family was out in force to cheer on the team!

Habitat’s own Currance Chiccino, with help from his son Rocco, threw the first pitch of the game.

Habitat “founding father” Dick Read provided a pre-game on-field interview, and Executive Director Suzan Fichtner was interviewed on-air during the game by the BlueClaws broadcaster.

 

The Claws invited Habitat to set up a table on the concourse to help spread the word about our mission of providing safe and decent housing in northern Ocean County, and the team contributed all of the proceeds from donations at the game’s concession stands to support the Habitat mission.

Earlier this year, the BlueClaws back-office staff spent a day with Habitat at three different ongoing projects — our 2019 “new build” home in Berkeley Township and two neighborhood revitalization projects at group homes for 21Plus.  We can’t thank the BlueClaws organization enough for coming out to offer their hearts and hands in support the Habitat mission!
