what is women build?
Women Build is a national Habitat for Humanity initiative designed to engage, educate, and empower women to transform lives and strengthen communities by providing safe and affordable homes for families in need. A Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity Women Build Team is an enthusiastic group of women who fundraise and work towards our Home Build and Critical Home Repair Programs.
Monday, May 6
Our Women Empowering Women Luncheon kicked off our Women Build initiative! We heard inspiring stories based on real-life experiences from amazing women within Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity. Thank you for lifting up other women and empowering them to build a stronger community!

Community Medical Center came out to our first project of Women Build 2024! The volunteers gave a Toms River home for The Arc, Ocean County Chapter a fresh coat of peacock blue paint. The residents love the color and are so thankful for their work! Thank you for taking part in our neighborhood revitalization efforts to build stronger communities!

The rain today didn’t The Home Depot volunteer group from completing their Women Build project! Benches and garden beds were built for the Sadie Vickers Community Resource Center in Manitou Park, Berkeley Township to use in their community garden. Manitou Park will soon be the home to our next 2 partner families! Thank you, Home Depot!

Our third Women Build project was completed by 20 volunteers from OceanFirst Bank! They came out to a repair site to replace 11 windows for an elderly couple. This will bring down energy costs and give the homeowners a more comfortable place to live!
Tuesday, June 11
Crossroads Realty came out for our 4th Women Build project at a home in Whiting for The Arc of Ocean County! They built a retaining wall and a fenced in garbage corral to help the front yard stay beautiful for the residents during inclement weather. Thank you to the lovely team at Crossroads Realty for helping our neighbors!
Wednesday, June 12
The Matus Law Group came out for our 5th project for The Arc of Ocean County in Toms River! They completed the second phase of this project, giving the home a second coat of blue paint and painting the doors gray. The Arc residents chose the color of the home inspired by a manager that had passed away. They are amazed with the transformation and couldn’t be happier!
