Truck Driver / Warehouse Assistant
Position Summary:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Donation Pick-Ups and Operations
- Perform successful, timely, and damage-free donation pick-ups
- Drive and operate a box truck with hydraulic lift for donation pick-ups
- Conduct daily truck inspections and report maintenance or repair needs to the ReStore Manager
- Maintain truck safety, cleanliness, security, and service logs
- Assist with organizing and processing donations in the receiving area
- Ensure acceptable donation standards are consistently followed
- Graciously decline donations that do not meet ReStore standards
- Support additional ReStore operations and projects as needed
B. Donor and Community Engagement
- Serve as the primary in-person liaison between the ReStore and corporate, retail, and individual donors
- Build and maintain positive donor relationships through professional and courteous interactions
- Provide excellent customer service to donors, shoppers, and community members
- Represent the mission and values of Habitat for Humanity in all interactions
- Help promote the ReStore and Habitat for Humanity within the community
C. Store and Team Support
- Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming environment
- Support daily ReStore operations and warehouse activities
- Assist staff and volunteers as needed during donation intake and processing
- Work collaboratively with the ReStore team to support operational efficiency
- Help maintain a positive and respectful team environment
D. Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all ReStore policies, donation standards, and operational procedures are consistently followed
- Maintain awareness of safety concerns throughout the store, warehouse, and loading areas
- Follow safe lifting, loading, and operational procedures at all times
- Help maintain a safe environment for customers, staff, volunteers, and donors
Additional responsibilities include performing other duties as assigned by the ReStore Manager in support of the ReStore and Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity’s mission and operations.
Requirements
The candidate must be deeply committed to NOHFH’s mission and demonstrate strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This position requires professionalism, sound judgment, flexibility, and the ability to interact respectfully with donors, volunteers, customers, and staff from diverse backgrounds. Familiarity with technology including cell phones, tablets, and GPS systems is preferred.
Work Environment and Conditions
This position involves frequent driving, lifting, loading, and working in both warehouse and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions. The role requires standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and active physical engagement throughout the workday. Regular interaction with donors, customers, volunteers, and staff is expected in a dynamic retail and warehouse setting.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
- Willingness to complete DOT physical requirements if needed
- Comfortable driving and loading a box truck with hydraulic lift
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 75 pounds with assistance
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using cell phones, tablets, and GPS technology
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and sense of teamwork

ReStore Assistant Manager
Position Summary:
Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity (NOHFH), a New Jersey non-profit and affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, seeks a ReStore Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of the Northern Ocean Habitat ReStore. Reporting to the ReStore Manager, this position assists with retail operations, staff and volunteer coordination, donation intake, merchandising, customer service, inventory management, and store organization in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. The ReStore Assistant Manager helps support sales growth and operational efficiency while fostering a positive and collaborative culture that reflects Habitat’s mission and values. This role plays an important part in advancing the ReStore as both a successful retail operation and a community resource that generates funding to support NOHFH’s affordable homeownership and critical home repair programs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Store Operations and Leadership:
- Support the ReStore Manager in daily store and warehouse operations
- Assume the role of Manager when the ReStore Manager is not present
- Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming environment
- Monitor inventory flow, pricing consistency, and product quality
- Oversee donation drop-offs and ensure acceptable donation standards are maintained
- Assist with logistics related to furniture pickups, deliveries, and donation coordination
- Support operational efficiency and inventory turnover
B. Donor and Community Engagement
- Assist in cultivating relationships with corporate donors
- Support donation outreach and donor communication efforts
- Help carry through and promote the mission of Habitat for Humanity within the community
- Provide excellent customer service to shoppers, donors, and community members
C. Volunteer and Staff Support
- Ensure volunteers are actively engaged, supported, and having a positive experience
- Help maintain and support a strong, respectful, and team-oriented staff culture
- Encourage teamwork, productivity, and professionalism among staff and volunteers
- Assist with training and supervising volunteers and team members as needed
D. Marketing and Social Media
- Assist with social media marketing and promotional efforts and ideas
- Help create engaging content to support sales, donations, and community awareness
- Support marketing initiatives and in-store merchandising efforts
E. Safety and Compliance
- Enforce safe work practices and outlined safety protocols at all times
- Ensure staff and volunteers are following proper lifting and operational procedures
- Maintain awareness of safety concerns throughout the store and warehouse

Requirements

Proven success in team building, critical thinking, multitasking, and working in a fast-paced environment is essential, along with strong negotiation skills and attention to detail. The individual should be able to work independently, maintain professionalism, and engage effectively with major donors. Familiarity with technology to support organizational goals is necessary.
